It'll be permanent!

I have a stats exam tomorrow, so, of course, I'm thinking about everything else.
I've been contemplating getting a tattoo recently. It's actually become an obsession of mine.
I need some help with perfecting the concept, so I thought I'd throw it out there to ya'll.
Here is my drawing of kind of what I want to get...and by my drawing you can tell that I am not in grad school for any sort of art degree.

My idea is to get the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil from Genesis. I like the idea that it is not that it's good or evil, but it is both...it's knowledge. It's conscience. I want it to have very little color. To be a knotty apple tree(or some other sort of fruit tree), with a serpent-like vine or something traveling from the roots to the branches. I want it to look like an old print...but with a little color.

Any suggestions? Oh, and I'm not sure where to put it? Inside of my arm? back? hip? Ideally it will be on my side...but that seems like the most painful place to get it.
